The Management Team

Ken Ormerod – BA, Dipl. Arch, MAPM, RIBA

Architect/Managing Director

The Ormerod Design Group was founded in 1993. Following a period of growth, the business was incorporated and, in 1994, became Ormerod Design Ltd.

Ken has been a registered Architect since 1978, initially working in local authority before gaining experience in commercial, retail, healthcare and housing/community projects. Ken has been a consultant Architect to major clients, Kwik Fit and Majestic Wines for over 25 years and continues to design and project manage their developments throughout the country.

Kens leads the team of talented Architects and technical staff at Ormerod Design who are dedicated to providing cost effective and elegant design solutions to our clients.


Armine Sutton – BA (Hons), PGDip (Arch), RIBA

Architect/Director

Armine has strong experience in commercial and domestic architecture. After studying Architecture under scholarship at the University of Yerevan from 1999 to 2002, Armine joined Thurston Group Plc as a Technician and gained valuable experience in commercial and healthcare project management.

Following her appointment to Ormerod Design as an Architectural Assistant in 2007, Armine continued her university study under the guidance of Ken Ormerod, culminating in the award of a charter from the RIBA in 2012. Armine was appointed as a board Director in 2013.

Since joining the company, Armine has been involved in many major projects and has gained a wealth of experience in commercial and residential Architecture. She continues to manage projects nationally and take an active role in the design process.


The Technical Team

Gareth Uttley – HND

Architectural Designer

Gareth began his professional career with Ormerod Design in 2007. Working closely with senior staff, he gained broad understanding and experience whilst also achieving a Higher National Certificate and a National Diploma in construction. Gareth is currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Construction Project Management part-time, with the full support of the company.

Gareth is a key member of many of the practice’s major projects and makes frequent site visits to manage progress.


Chris Paraskos – BA (Hons)

Part I Architectural Asst.

Chris joined the practice after completing his RIBA Part 1, BA Hons Architecture in 2012 working on a variety of projects on his year out from University to gain experience. Currently he is undertaking a Masters degree in Architecture on a part time basis, whilst continuing to work at the practice. Chris assists the project architects throughout all stages of design, from early concepts through to completion.


Louis Smith

Trainee Architectural Asst.

Louis joined Ormerod Design Limited in 2011. Having now completed his HNC in Construction, he is currently studying towards a BA(Hons) in Architecture. Louis works closely with all members of the team, with particular focus on major projects.


Administration

Ellie Ormerod

PA/HR Administrator

Ellie has been with the company since August 2012, working on a part-time basis having previously worked as a Legal PA in Solicitors in both Leeds and London. She is currently studying a long-distance law degree with Manchester Metropolitan University. Ellie supports the daily management of office operations and assists with HR responsibilities including employment, recruitment, office policies and training. Ellie is also the proud owner of our illustrious mascot, Archie.


Archie Ormerod

Practice Mascot

Archie joined the company in 2012 as our official mascot. He is a graduate of several professional obedience schools and holds a diploma in secure document destruction. Currently working part-time, he assists staff across the practice with any task involving the retrieval of footwear or paper based products.
